I still list every thing I would ideally like to complete today if I was quadro turbo charged with focus and energy. And then to priortize. My new idea was to identify my top values, which for me came to 11 (though I should not be surprised at the length)...and then tried to factor 2 tasks for each priority (sometimes I would add something missed in my original list. And I also prioritized my values. This is what I came up with for my values. And these were prioritized based on logic...not nessisarily how I currently spend my resources. I need a name for this method of prioritization...Belief Based Priortization.
1 Faith-based - works It's important
2 Meditation - This is just so important. It's also an act of faith
3 Family - This is about making sure that I address the emotional, spiritual, behavioral, and intellectual needs of my family
4 Income - Because I have to give this more attention if I want it
5 CST - This is a demonstration of faith as well as an act of income
6 Practice New/Existing Order - Clean up an area, put stuff where it goes
7 Establish New Order - Everything needs to have a place…And these places must be identified
8 Followup - More with communications. This is also an act of faith
9 Food - Every body has to eat. There is effort in planning and preparing. I would like to efficientize this.
10 Maintenance of Life - I consider these low effort tasks because they are so routine… clean the kitchen, brush teeth, take a bath…I write it down because its something I know I will complete. It adds to my numbers.
11 Physical Appearance - I'm vain. I think about this a lot. I feel out of shape right now with an inadequate wardrobe

When To-Do Lists Kill...
I'm a list person. I am not sure when that happened. I think it developed when I was an engineer working on multiple projects...I needed visuals to keep me focused....So for 10 years I have been using lists. And it got to be a crutch such that if I did not have a list to reference, I would do absolutely nothing...with an awkward feeling that I should be doing something more productive with my time. I wrote down my priorities of what i wanted to accomplish for the day. And thinking about it, if something was really a priority (meaning true to my core), I would not need a list. For example, I don't need to write down to eat or go to sleep, only because I really value these activities. I do know others, that claim to "forget to eat sometimes" or have atypical circadian rhythms...
The lists definitely help me....and after doing this for 10 years, i think I have yet to discover a more efficient way to ensure my priorities get done. My lists were way to ideal...I would need 5 clones to complete my list...so typically I could check of 50% of my tasks....and this is the list of top picks of the partly tangible master list of things that should be done today. This is horrible for esteem because my list represents over half by life underachieved....which is sending that message in the universe which will always boomerang...
Tip: if your a list person with constant uncompleted lists, take notice and analyze of which tasks you complete and the ones that get neglected.

The Need to Prioritize
One of the challenges in planning is identifying the most efficient sequence to execute task for the greatest results impact...and the greatest results impact is based on the values of the stakeholders. How can you really understand what matters to a person if you don't understand their core values. People say things, but how common is it for people to say things in which they really don't mean?
So, tip: really try to get to know your stakeholders and what matters to them. Really feel the motivation. Document. What is this important to you? How does this tie in with other strategic directives? Understanding is the key to motivation? I think with myself and a way to motivate others.
On a personal note...so how to you prioritize the daily objectives of life?
